Two Moons

by Two Moons on 01 February 2009 - 15:02

Power finally came back on here.
After this I think I can survive anything.   Altho we did come dangerously close to killing each other and a few neighbors.
Walmart raised prices on salt, soup, coleman fuel, basicaly kicking us while we were down.   I hope they rot in hell !
I'm sure they raised prices across the board but that was all I could afford to buy.   Kerosene was 3.99 a gal. yet 8 oz. of lamp oil was 6.00, ain't it great.

The heros of the day are the utility workers who have worked around the clock to get power back up and running, altho many are still without.  I feel for those still without, just hang on a bit longer.

Another bit of news, as many in the auto industry are suffering, Toyota is moving assets to China.
Probably for Walmart excecutives to drive around in China while buying the junk they are selling to us here.
I hope they rot in hell!!   I say that even tho I don't believe in hell, we make our own hell Ugly Dog.  I've read the threads.

On the brighter side, I just got my three generation pedigree back from AKC for Indy and they fucked it up even tho they had the original papers in hand from the SV.   Idiots !!

As I said I have read the threads, it looks like I didn't miss anything.  SSDD.

Well I wanna go now, take another hot bath. Thats the only thing I missed this week.

later.

Sounds like you had a good week!  It was a mess here in Ohio also, but we at least had electric. They say another storm is coming next week, but we might get lucky and miss it. On a brighter note, you can now watch Arizona beat Pittsburg later today.LOL.

Have a good day...........

Glad you survived...my brother lives in Kentucky, haven't heard from him in a little over a week, but he's a survivor type....I'm not worried.  Yeah, the AKC screwed up my pups' registration, we transferred reg from hubby to me, paid the fee, ---papers came back registered to him! Dumb a$$s. Anyway, enjoy your warm bath...sure feels good to be warm, doesn't it? jh

I wish the snow would fall by leaps and bounds, the whole state's electric shut off, state of emergency called, no vehicles, no work ... ya know slow the pace down abit.

Then Wahhhlaaa .... horsemen, mountainmen, snow mobiles, motorX N ATV's and wild animals on a free for all run' about.

Woot Woot !!!

i wish i could send some of the socal weather your way! there should be a special hell for those who raise prices on necessities when there are emergencies or out and out catastrophies. good luck to all of you in the frozen wastelands, except for babyeagle - she seems to thrive on it! woot woot indeed!

Yes is it not a kick in the arse when after the auto union workers were forced to" become competitive with toyota and others now they will even have to become competititve with the unemployed auto workers. But it is nice to have ya back  tm

Glad to hear you made it  two moons happy the neighbors lived to tell also. The only thing worst then a few days of silence is for the silence to be interrupted by the sounds of the hiss from the Coleman lantern .I think the noise they make drive a person to well you know..LOL

Glad to see you back Two Moons. I'm headed up to the cold by choice, more fun for the dogs. It's beautiful here though this time. Sunny and 70 again. Makes it more fun in the snow when the sky is blue. If ya'll don't here back from me by tonight, I'm lost in the woods with my 2 dogs. Just call me Survivor woman! LOL On second thought, call my local sheriff.

I hear you...

We haven't had any real snow up here in the Inland Northwest for about three weeks, but some areas were hit with bad power outages due to days and days of fog freezing onto everything in sight.  But we had almost ten feet of snowfall between mid December and the first week of January, so we're doing okay in the precip department.

As for price increases on things...I agree!  They should all rot in the hot place!!

Simply put, there's no excuse to keep raising prices, not when the reason they raised them in the first place is gone. Of course, now that gas is going up again, they are raising prices to compensate, AGAIN!

Avista Corp, one of our local power companies, unabashedly got an increase of ten cents per therm for natural gas and a penny a KWH for electricity, then had the gall to shut off a local lady's power when she couldn't pay any on her bill due to lost job.  State law provides for winter moratorium that keeps the power on for the entire winter until March first, if you have elderly or children in the home, but they shut off this lady's power, and her 18- month old baby lost fingertips and toetips to frostbite when the outside temp was below zero.  It's crazy!  Too bad we can't all go off grid for a couple of months and let the power companies know that they need us more than we need them.
