I am looking for the best carpet cleaner for the typical GSD messes, you all know poop, pee mudd and so on. Price is a factor but the machine must work. Thanks. Dennis

I call 'em wood floors.  LOL ripped out my carpet a couple of years ago!

You are right about the hardwood floors but living in Wisconsin with real small children it is just too cold....

Agree with MI GSD, not very fashionable, but a dog proof house should have hard floors, I am learning the hard way!

I do like my Bissel with the on board heat.

For "cheap"  get ypurself a shop vac, saturate the area with hat cleaning solution (I like the Bissel pet brand with some oxyclean)   and vaccum it up.  They are multipurpose, can be used to prevaccum hair, clean cars, crates, shredded stuff.  Keep it clean and use the blower feature to dry dogs.  Use the wet feature also for spilled water.

Best buy I ever made!

That's true.  I'm in Michigan but I wear big fuzzy slippers.

Buy  ;large area rugs that can be taken outside incase of boo boos....also peroxide saturated  , soak rag and brush up mess...wait after peroxide is soaked up ,,,take isopropyl alcohl and drizzle over the spot   brush slightly, never pushing down......use a rainbow or a outdoor vaccuum to clean up mess.....redo if needed...soak do no rub,    blot with  "wam ouuuh "or big soft rag.

Don't your hardwood floors scratch up with dogs running all around?? We have carpet that I am dying to get rid off!! We use the bissell steam cleaner BUT I think having laminate/vinyl flooring would be best.

I've had vinyl for over 9 years with GSD's and cats and have no scratches.  Can't speak for wood.  I think my vinyl is Armstrong.  Builder installed it  - I just picked the color.  I use area rugs and when they get too bad I just throw them out.
