I have been feeding TOTW Wetlands Fowl food since they first came out with it. I had been feeding Chicken Soup, but decided that I wanted to do a grain free food. Today, when I opened my latest bag, I immediately noticed a difference. The kibble was larger and lighter in color. Also, it smelled like something you would get at the grocery store. One of the distinct features of this food is that it smells like a just cooked roasted duck dinner. I called Diamond, although they don't answer Diamond, and asked if they had changed their formula. They said that they hadn't. They opened a case with the production and best by date. The exp date was 02NOV09, and the production code was TOW1002C21MS1341. I told the store about it and got a different bag--different prod. code--that one was OK.

So, do I continue to trust this food, or switch to a different grain free? I had a previous problem with Diamond some years ago with their Premium Edge brand. I found large chunks of the cutting blade used to chop the kibble in the bag. So this is strike 2.

My dog eats about 90-95% raw, I keep small bags of Instinct Chicken kibble.  Every few days he gets a cup of soaked kibble.  I use their canned food to mix with BodyGuard and ShowStopper.

we were feeding totw also, till the store owner told us she was going away from them because they( diamond) did away with the quality control as they don't feel they need it anymore ( cutting into their profit, i suspect) anyways we have went to fromm and the dogs absolutely love it!

Pharoh,
I feed Wellness and Instinct. Love the Instinct raw, really good. I think Showstopper is the best all around coat supplement ever made. I get it from show and sport in CA. Terry helped test the product development, her customer service is unsurpassed and she will give quantity discounts listed on her web site.

I feed TOTW, not the duck formula though - no problems.  I've fed Chicken Soup (also by Diamond) for 5 years, many different dogs - never a problem.  I'll stick with both, I like the ingredients and the price compared to other no-grain and low-grain foods.

I feed Kirkland which is made by Diamond.  Have for at least 12 years with never a problem.  I have fed multiple dogs, friends boarding dogs, dogs in getting bred, rescue dogs, no problems.  Some of the dogs coming in have been switched straight over to the Kirkland, lamb and rice and no loose stools, ever.
Was just in Pet Food Express,  had my dogs with me and had a food rep ask what I fed cause my dogs look fantastic.  Needless to say they didnt try and push their food on me..   My dogs should be the poster children for Kirkland..  hehe
