I sold two dog's to this gentleman in Missouri, he sent me a cashiers check from his bank for the agreed amount. However I put the check in my back pocket and later washed all my clothes including the pants were I had the check.
Well, needless to say, the check was totally destroyed. The man went to his bank and was informed that I well have to sign an affidavit stating what had happened to the check and then I would have to wait 90 days to be provided with another check.
Have any of you had something like this happen to you; and do you really have to wait this long to get another check?

I have had this situation before, but not with dogs. He should be able to put a stop payment on the check. Simple as that. You could offer to pay the fee.

Yes, you do have to wait! I have lost money orders from the US Post Office and I had to wait for them to verify the check didn't get cashed and it did take some time.
