Took new pup into vets today for check up and shots.Well while there she put pup on her back and what a chore that was she is a fighter. While she is on her back and tried spreading her legs<the pup that is> said very tight and should be xrayed
So made an appt. for next week for xrays now is this something I should worry about? Oh and the pup is 11 weeks old.
Thanks
Ziggy

Pfft. There's no reason to xray at 11 weeks old. You can't see anything relevant yet--the hip sockets aren't formed enough to show anything. It'd be a waste of your time and money, as well as unnecessary stress on your puppy.

In addition, "tightness" in the hips doesn't indicate hip problems--it indicates a dog resisting you. Why did your vet put your puppy on her back? That's ridiculous--if she wanted to check the belly for puppy pyoderma (like acne on the belly), she should pick up the front legs and check that way if she needs to.

If you're not really attached to this vet, I'd probably be looking for a new vet--one who doesn't roll puppies and who doesn't come with the preconception that every GSD has displaysia.

Yes I would at least see another vet,   x-ray or not this doesn't sound right.
Can you tell if theres any limited movement yourself?
Does it cause any pain ?
You don't have to roll the pup over to check this.

SMART MOVE Ziggy!

Find another vet that doesn't have an eye on your wallet!

No pain and no limited movement see she had pup on back and try to spread them and the pup just didn't like to be held on her back .Just took pup in for check up seeing i just had her shipped to me and a set of shots. checked out her heart ,ears eyes and teeth then she laid her on her back and looked like she was going to make a wish took hind legs and tried to spread them.
And I'm guessing your right miras about wallet because she was quick to set up appt. for xrays.
But ziggy just as quick called in and cancelled appt.
Thanks
Ziggy

My vet loves to perform tests!
They just had their driveway paved and put up a beautiful new plastic railed fence around the front of the property.
Money must be good.

Your pup sounds like a good one so far.
Best of luck.

Really no need for pictures unless there is evidence of disease of you intend to breed. Even if breeding no need untill the pup is at least 12 months old.
