A silly question, but has anyone noticed their GSDs seem to dream, twitching, whining, etc more often than others? When I say others I mean average pet dogs with no over active drive. As soon as my two fall into a deep sleep, their paws start twitching, their mouths start clenching and unclenching. My male even barked once in his sleep, and woke himself up. Lol. I think they're dreaming about bite work! Now that's drive.
Anyone else notice this with their poochies?

A mate of mine thinks they are having a primal dream of some sort like being chased by a bear or wolves but I reckon they're dreaming about all the things they're not supposed to do, like catching that cat from 2 doors away, or finally meeting up with the horrid kid who keeps winding me up or eating that whole chicken rather than just the back & wings you keep giving me or just having some private time with that on heat bitch....

T (Carol) dreams a LOT. He runs & barks on his side, clearly out like a light, very entertaining in the day time, not so much at 3am. He also snores pretty loud sometimes. Occasionally he sleeps so soundly next to me I reach to touch him to make sure he's still alive. For all his animation on the field he is a complete dead head around the house, in strange hotel rooms, ring-side at a show and riding in the car. In KY when we were watching the youth female class on the ground right at the side of the ring during the gaiting he cracked us up SNORING. Very low-stress dog. I wish my nerves were half as strong as my dog's!
