I was just wanted to hear peoples thoughts on this test because I have watched some videos like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJnEIVwJmHE and this dog still passed????? is this test a load of c%^& just so AKC can make money...probably.. but I want some opinions.

I saw a big strong friendly dog that was completely mis handled............

If the CGC has been created to give pet dog owners, who would not otherwise train their dogs, a reason to go through obedience training, then why not pass them. The dog is well adjusted and happy, he doesn't pose a threat to anyone or anything. The work is done.

With a different handler, the dog would have done much better.

CGC may be a joke.  This dog looked very happy.

when my dog runs away after a rabbit he is happy too. maybe the judge should have actually paid attention to what the dog was doing. I think a 3 month old puppy could pass that test

Canine Good Citizen was designed to get more people out and training with their dogs. It is to be very easy and fun for both the dog and handler. It is not made to discourage people or dog from training.

I agree this dog and handler should of -- could of been trained better. Many handlers are very new to training. but as the judge you can only DQ on a few things (peeing on the field,  aggression and things like that) .

This club or trainer needs to reread the rules as there were errors with this video and route.

I have tested 4-5 month olds to earn this title. But again they were trained better and did not pull half the crapp that dog did.
