Hello all! I was wondering if any of you knew a good trainer in the Northern Virginia or Southern Maryland area. I have a 4 month old pup that is really high drive and I would like to take her to a trainer and see if she has what it takes because we would love to get into Schutzhund with her, but have never been involved in it before. She is a really gorgeous pup that loves to cuddle, however, when my teenage son runs, she literally chases him, jumps and grabs him in mid air, and she grips like a vice and has a mean streak for tug of war, etc! Her dad is a SchH3 and all the dogs in his pedigree are at least a SchH1. The mother is not titled but all of the dogs are in her pedigree as well- so I think she might have what it takes.
If you don't have any recommendations on a trainer, please let me know if there is anything I could do to see if she might be appropriate for Schutzhund. Thank you!

I recommend Kirby and Clare Hill, they are in Strahsburg VA and they are outstanding trainers, who would definately be able to evaluate your puppy and help you get started in the sport or any other training you wanted to do. There are other very good trainers in the area, but you can't do better than the Hill's IMO.
The Hill's e-mail is ccomfort@shentel.net tell them Molly sent you :)

Armin Winkler, Rivanna SchH Club, Palmyra, VA. I've seen Armin worked very young puppies at seminars and thought he was wonderful with them. And he certainly is honest in his evaluations.
