This topic had come up sometime back but details are still sketchy.

East West is caused by:

1) Bad breeding
2) bad flooring for puppy or adult
3) inadequete supplements to the bitch while she is pregnant
4) lack of supplements to the puppy the first few weeks of life

Can this be fixed by increase of supplements, correct flooring etc...

Advice would be great.

I would say it is just a structural fault, or abnormality. nothing that was caused by bad breeding,  as some of the best breedings out there can produce a pup who goes east/west in the front.

I could see possibly being cause by being kept on slick floors,  but then gain wouldn't it correct itself once the pup was on a surface where they could get a good footing?

I have seen some people use blocks to teach the dog to stand correctly. mainly an american show thing.

I had a german showline male once whose front was soo bad,  it looked like someone had broke his ankles (or pasterns) and reset them to heel at a bad angle.  he was out of a very good litter.  I didn't get him till he was 12 months old.  and I didn't notice his front when I drove to pick him up.  while looking at him,  he was held in high grass and I could see his feet.  only saw it once I got him home onto pavement and shorter cut grass.

I just think these things happen

I also would like to hear more about this. My girl is 9 months old with slight  (but noticeable) east west front feet. I have been told there's a CHANCE she could still grow out of it. Does anyone know what age she would grow out of it, if that's destined to happen? She had straight front legs/feet at 9 weeks old, if that matters. Any exercises/supplements to help? Or just wait it out?

I have a feeling that breeding has something to do with it also.........just look at people........horses, cows, cats.........
