Hello.
One of my male mix suffers from the above. The desensitization shots seem to be no longer as effective....it is an ongoing issue. We are not feeding raw (so bring it on guys!)
What natural ways are there to detox or help his immune system? Natural remedies?
Thanks for sharing.

Being the owner of a GSD with what so far sounds like an identical situation...I am very interested and seeing if you get any helpful responses here. Having spent over 5,000 now on my guy and still dealing with the constant itching/scratching it would be awesome to find another path to try and help him.....I am on the 21 day sustaining shots now and not getting real results......How old is your GSD and if I may ask from what pedigree? I don't know if anything I have tried so far would help you any, but feel free to ask away. Mine is even allergic to human dander (Scored a 3 worst score possible). Raw diet does not help much here either. Hopefully some good responses will follow........one thing I have learned that amazed me. While at training....never a scratch or chew or itch. He gets so wrapped up in training he must just block out the Itch......

One of the hardest to control, you can reduce them in the enviroment by using Dustmite and flea allergy control by The Ecology Works, it is a powder you mix with water, wash all hard surfaces down ie floors, skirts, even leather settees. Wash the dogs bedding 130 degrees fahrenheit to kill the mites and remove allergan, ged rid of carpets and have solid floors, buy a dehumidifier to remove moisture as mites need humidity to survive, if it drops to between 50%-60% they will die. Use a hoover with a heppa filter, the problem is people can bring these into the house on clothing and you will never 100% get rid of them.
Use Udo's Oil in the food, it contains omegas 3,6&9
Use an Anti-oxidant such as Antiox -10 which suppresses the histamine production

Hello - it is a GSD mix with Retriever - no lines that I can go back to. This was a rescue dog. I know some of my clients have had stellar success with Atopica - the medication. That of course, is not a "natural" remedy.

My one girl with various grain, and grass allergies has been almost itch free and no rash since I switched her to Darwins Raw food mixed with some Innova kibble. Good luck, it can be very frustrating, that feeling no matter what you try it's not helping.......
