Has anyone doubled up on Esko, 3:2 and if so, how did it go? Have heard this is not a good idea, but never why. Any ideas?

Pinstone,
If you look up Esko here on the database, click on reverse linebreeding. This will pull up a list of many dogs linebred to Esko, not necessarily 3-2,but I am sure that those animals will be included also. The point to such a close linebreeding(inbreeding) is to hopefully cement the best traits of the animal upon which a litter is linebred and to enhance prepotency.
Sometimes hugely successful, other times tragically not so successful....and all points in between.
The thing to remember with such a close linebreeding , is that it is most important that the source dog be of the highest quality and be known to reproduce their own excellence much more often than not. In Esko's case, it appears that the best traits to be exploited are the phenomenal hips and excellent structure that he consistently threw, especially in his bitches.
Beware of poor pigment, and fading color. Hope this helps.
Regards
