The club I'm in is hosting a workshop with Gregory Doud.  I have already reserved a working spot for all 3 days and his Curriculum Vitae looks very impressive.  I just wanted to get some feedback from others who have worked with him and get an idea of what to expect from the seminar (feel free to PM if you'd rather)  My only concern is that I'm new to the sport (about 1 year) and have a young (14 months) dog i.e green handler with a green dog and hoping that what we do is not too far over my head.  But really even if it is, I'll just be a sponge, soak it all up, ask lots of questions and take it from there.  Then when I come home I log on here and bombard all of you with it LOL....  Thanks everyone!

You will benefit from him he came to where I worked at (kraftwerk)and is very good plus a very nice guy he has a ton of knowledge and is easy to learn from.

I recommend auditing the seminar, watch and learn so you don't do something that will screw up your dog this time around.

Thank you!   Molly-Perhaps I over emphasized my stupidity.  If there is a training method or exercise that I think would be counterproductive to the work we have done thus far I have no problem excusing myself.  I figured being the freshman we are we'll be pushed to the back of the line anyways and will be doing a lot more watching then doing regardless.  I don't want to screw up my dog but I've got to get my feet wet sooner or later & I see this as an opportunity worth taking.

Greg is a good trainer and is fun to train with train with. He has an excellent way with people and a relaxed style. Do your self a favor and attend.

I agree with Molly.  My personal rule of thumb is to audit a seminar for the first time without the dog.  If it's something you like, you can always reserve a working spot next time.  There is a fair amount of peer pressure at any seminar to "just say no" in the middle of your dog being worked.  So be sure you like what the person has to offer, and be sure what they're offereing fits in with the way you want to train your dog.

Liberty always holds awesome events! I am sure this one wont disappoint.

Mark and I would have loved to have come but we have another commitment :(

And now I am kicking myself in the #%$^ since I heard it was moved to an indoor heated facility!

Have a great time everyone!

Actually this is being put on by MVSV and yes the indoor heated animal arena at the U of M is awesome for winter training.  I was out there on Saturday and it is a great facility for (comfortably) getting training done this time of year in this reigion.

Thanks Ronnie VOTE for Summer!
