Ed's video with flinks promotes the prey item hidden from the dog when transferred from one hand to another behind the back. building drive and focus shows this being done. I have been told that this builds conflict in the dog and should not be done? comments

I used that method on my new pup and it been generating good results, plus the benefit is that we both have fun doing it. Good point that not every method will work on ever dog, you need to be open minded and be willing to adjust your training method.

Ignore the stalker and continue the thread as desired. If you ignore his posts and dont read them, he will have a melt down. No more replies to stalker boy. The madness meltdown has begun.
Anyways, the flinks videos are great. Berhard's personal dogs speak volumes. They are completely focused and driven, not to mention a joy to watch work.

Steve can you please explain your view point a little bit? Sure you are building his drive, but at the same time focus of the dog, and you can get nice obedience out of a dog through drive satisfaction, as well I find it a great tool to teach the dog control. So why you think it builds conflict? I know that you train with some awesome people and I am sure you know more than me so I would like to see your reason behind your answear. Thanks you can PM me if you prefer it that way.

The dog wants the ball and cannot have it. To me that is frustration, but I could see it as conflict. What is the big deal here??? I am missing something, I am sure of it.
Are you getting the behavior that you want to see ??? If you are, then I am back to confused.
