Sr. Corporal Norman Smith
An 18 year veteran of serving the Law enforcement was on a warrant serve and was shot in face and killed upon the entrance to the property. Today was to be his anniversary of those 18 years of service.
I just got the news and do not have all the details..One of suspects and two others in the apartment that they were attempting to serve a warrant on a wanted felon, were taken into custody. One of the suspects has been charged. It was not the person the warrant was being served on. That person was in custody and drugs and weapons were found in the apartment. The incident is being thoroughly investigated.
I just read the thread here about K-9 's lives and the men that serve our country and have a dog companion with them and the dog takes the fall and being used on foreign missions. Then 15 minutes a Tyler news channel had this news.
Watch the news for the complete report. Just took my evenings quiet happiness right out the front door.

May Sr. Corporal Norman Smith rest in peace and may his loved ones find comfort in the memory of this good mans life.

Yellow Rose, this is a very sad day indeed.
I suppose the murderer was just "turning his life around".
So, is there a protest march against the druggie thugs?
I am glad I did not go to training tonight. There are riots going on in Oakland since this afternoon. Breaking store windows, torching police and other cars, tear gas, and some violence. It may really explode tomorrow.
