If you had to choose a dry dog food for your GSD, which would you pick and why?

I would still pick RAW :)

But if I would have to pick dry I would pick Vet's Choice, Price and results are on par. I would concider Orijen but like I stated before if I have to pay for Orijen I rather feed RAW. For me Kibble is Kibble and usually that translates into not that good for your dog :)

BTW for me order is Raw, Table scraps, Kibble.

Kibble: Orijen (but I can't justify the price so I choose RAW), Vet's choice (cheap and good results)

I use INNOVA brand dog food.  All good healthy ingredients (the first being Turkey/Chicken) with no Corn/Wheat  My GSD eats Canned and Dry.  I like this food for the ingredients.  But I especially likes that she actually digests/uses this food - which makes alot less waste.

Here are the ingredients:

Ingredients

Turkey

Turkey is the clean combination of flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, derived from the parts or whole carcasses of turkey or a combination of thereof - exclusive of feathers, heads, feet, and entrails.

Turkey is an excellent source of highly digestible protein. Natura uses high-quality turkey in many of our formulations.

The turkey Natura uses is tested to be free of hormones, antibiotics and pesticides, as well as chemical preservatives such as BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin. This is an important distinction because manufacturers are not required to list substances that are present in the ingredients when they go into the pet food.

Chicken

Chicken is the clean combination of flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, derived from the parts or whole carcasses of chicken - exclusive of feathers, heads, feet, and entrails.

Chicken is an excellent source of protein.

The chicken Natura uses is tested to be free of hormones, antibiotics and pesticides, as well as chemical preservatives such as BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin. Natura does not add these harmful ingredients, and they are not present in the ingredients we use. This is an important distinction, because manufacturers are not required to list substances that are present in the ingredients when they go into the pet food.

Chicken Meal

Chicken meal is the dry rendered (cooked down) product from a combination of clean flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, derived from the parts of whole carcasses of chicken -- exclusive of feathers, heads, feet, or entrails.

Chicken meal is considered to be the single best source of protein in commercial pet foods. Natura uses high-quality, low ash chicken meal extensively. This ingredient is very digestible, very palatable, and very expensive.

Barley

Barley is a major food and animal feed crop, a member of the grass family Poaceae.

Ground barley is the entire barley kernel, ground or chopped.

Ground Barley is a good quality

I just looked up the Ingredients in VETS CHOICE... the first ingredient is GROUND CORN... no WAY IN HELL would I feed that to my dog!

And just a note... Dog fed foods with Corn and Wheat products have the highest incidents of food allergies, atopy and ear infections.

I am actually leaning between Innova and Canidae...I'm just not sure if I should feed my puppy the Innova large breed puppy or the innova puppy...or Canidae

We are feeding our dogs the Kirkland Costco chicken and rice. There is no corn or wheat in the food. The quality of the meat in the food is very good also, they do not have alot of added fillers in the food either. They do very well on it. Their coats are aweseome and their energy levels are very good. I have one dog that has had allergies all his life. He is doing great on this food. He has no allergies issues at all.

Kirklands (Costco brand) Chicken & Rice or Lamb & Rice is actually a good food and not so expensive and doesnt have corn or wheat as JYL stated... its also not as expensive as some well known hollistic/natural  foods.

Canidae is definately another good choice.

The price of the food is very good. We pay $21.99 for a 40 pound bag.
