The twins were doing me a favor and transporting a rescue dog here for fostering - and the poor boy evacuated his substantial bowels onto the backseat.

I was told he travels well in the car. There was about 6 pounds of steaming evidence to the contrary, but at least he didn't barf .

We spent an hour with the upholstery cleaner, but lets just say it's not "minty fresh" in there. Does anybody have any strong kung fu for Close Encounters of the Turd Kind?

LOL... sorry!  I was told years ago of a "remedy" to rid one of my then dogs of the smell of fox poo, which he liked to roll in... wait for it..... tomato ketchup!  I was told to rub it into his shoulder, the wipe off with a damp cloth... voila!!!!

Truth is, I never did try it, but I've always remembered it.  Worth a try?

"You can't polish a turd" but you sure can try with some vinegar and add salt to dry it out.

I would try Fribreeze and if that failed, I'd use a vinegar/water mix. If both of those failed, I'd toss a couple of oil soaked shop rags into the car, but I'm a guy, LOL

Of course, you could lock a male cat in there for a couple days...... You won't smell ANY dog poop after that!! ; >)

theres a chemical we use at my doggy day care. its called consume. theres consume "odor" I used that on the lovely diarhea in my TAN seats. worked like a charm to santize, clean, and refresh my car all in one

Tan interior... colour co-ordinated then?  That was a blessing LOL.

lol its a very light tan, could almost be mistaken as grey when not in direct sunlight. so it stained pretty bad but the consume took it all out.

Good luck there!

Hopefully after some time and airing out it should get better.  One of mine had a blowout outside the crate and some got on the rug in the car.  Even after scrubbing it lingered.   Finally after some sufficient airing out and more scrubbing it finally left the car.
