Interesting pedigree. The sire has some nice czech working dogs, backed by some excellent German working lines. THe dam has German showlines, going back to some very nice conformation dogs. N o linebreeding but that's ok. You don't usually see a mix of lines like this. She's a cute puppy, good luck with her.

I say anything with Illo is generally nice work and traiability wise. My cousin has an Illo daughter and we bought a Grandson about 9 months ago. Both are well balanced dogs, but with decent conformation to. I like the Ursus lines and Ulk lines though. My female has a mix of many of those. I tend to love the crossing of both types though. ok thanks alot! would the dog be good for protection?

by ZVZW on 06 January 2009 - 01:01
The total pedigree does not constitute that a dog would do just Protection, but sure are capable. Look into that one dogs drives is all that can be done. When I worked Sentry dogs, Security dogs we had dogs from all walks of life and pedigree. Even a good rescue dog can do it all, but your pedigree is not bad. Czech lines are most really decent dogs.

The father's pedigree is good for protection and the mother's pedigree is not strong for protection.....so it comes down to which side does the dog seem to have inherited protection traits. This is based on pedigree only as that is what your question was.....there are dogs in mother's pedigree that COULD do protection but it wouldn't be the norm, and the fathers pedigree has some strong working Czech/West dogs as the norm. Good Luck with your dog!
