I'm about to do a linebreeding on this, 3-3 Berry, 3-4 on SG Mücke vom Oberhausener-Kreuz.....and thought perhaps I should ask if anyone has done this and how did it turn out? The PDB comes up with only one litter whelped last year when you do the reverse linebreeding thing. I included Blacky, since Berry is his litterbrother...the results should be similar. Veronica

Veronica,
Who are the parents? I would be very interested in this breeding as I am a Gildo FREAK!

Could be very nice. Blacky was a super dog in obedience, but not the hardest dog in the bitework, although still great. A buddy of mine had a blacky daughter and she was outstanding in obedience, tracking and protection. Blacky sure did produce some very nice dogs.

Have you researched Blacky/Berry hip production? Just curious

Here is the pedigree of the proposed litter: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/para.utkoma?fadir=389883&modir=458738
Arwin is a tough, civil, hard in bitework, social, high threshold for stimulus, smart, super-into-mom dog. She thinks she can take on bears (she tried, I called her back to me), has stopped a moose charge, and is great in Schutzhund work, all three phases...she is a great tracker, and joyful in obedience. Any lacks she has are mine..I have two left feet in training :-(. She only has a BH...we started late, then I broke my ankle and knee last April, so I was unable to walk much for six months, during our tracking/trialing season. By the time I could walk again, we had snow on the ground. She's almost 4, I haven't bred her because she's my training bud, but if I want a litter from her, I better breed her now and hope it happens.
I just got Brun a few weeks ago. I'm learning about him. He's very affectionate, biddable, civil, has a lower suspicion threshold I think, but accepts strangers after an introduction. My 12 year old daughter has started taking him to training, when we get to go. (Truck on the blitz.) My daughter loves him. He has a great bite, doesn't seem to have any training issues, but we haven't tracked him yet. I'm trying to talk my daughter into getting the FH on him next year.
Brun has a ZW of 75, A1 hips and elbows. Arwin is OFA good and normal. Arwin's sire Endy vom Oberhausner-Kreuzhad a ZW of 69. Arwin's mom was Belgium, and had a hip of HD/B. Mom's sire was Urzo van't Quentawald, and grandsire Belschik v. Eichen-Bruche.
I appreciate comments on the linebreeding that anyone has seen.

Veronica, why don't you also post on the euro list ? Might be able to get good feedback there also...

Sometimes the Euro list intimidates me, LOL. I'm just a newbie, I don't know all the ins and outs that they do! Veronica

Okay, I'll quit being a wuss and ask the list....it's a good idea. Veronica

Color me stupid here, but WHAT Euro list??? I'd love to check it out.
BTW, I had a Gildo grandson through Gary Hanrahan's dog Asko (2 time SchH 3 USA CH, 3 time USA international team dog) by Gildo many years ago. I had several litters from him...really nice dogs. Last year I bought a Blacky grandson specifically to line breed on Gildo and have bred him to two of my bitcvery good drive, calm in the house, and very bidable to the handler. Good natural guard, social to all I let in the house, and several have had prelims...so far all look great. I'ld love to hear what you get! (Jackie)

Your results on Blacky offspring sound promising. Thanks for the information. You have to be invited to join the GSD-Euro list, but perhaps with your credentials, they'll let you in anyway. I PM'd you with the link to the group. Veronica
