THE IRISH PROGRESSIVE GSD GROUP (IPGSDG) This notice is to advise all Irish German Shepherd Dog Enthusiasts that the above group is now up and running. The aim of the Group is the same as for the English, Scottish and Welsh organizations which has already been well documented on the data base website; http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/forum.html. I will be emailing this notice to all those German Shepherd Dog exhibitors (North and South of the border) whose email I am aware of; but hope that all the others can pick this notice up (from the data base) and let me have their views. Contact details 02842771032 – jean.duff4@btinternet.com
As you all know we only have one breed club under Kennel Club London (KCL) rules and regulations all the others are Irish Kennel Club (IKC) entities. However, I feel it is important, and welcome, all the non KCL to participate in this survey as we need all the help, advice and assistance possible. As stated the why’s and wherefor’s have been well documented on the data base but now I am looking for suggestions to:
Hold a meeting - Venue and date
Do we get involved or should we just watch developments?
Are there volunteers to sit on a forum under this title?
What do you think the IPGSDG function should be
If we are to go forward how do we fund the IPGSDG.
I am sure there are many more questions out there so please come back and give your opinions. We all enjoy owning, showing, working and loving our GSDs now let’s get together to see if we can help to resolve the issues threatening to destroy it (or do you think the KCL is correct in its stance?
If you wish to reply by mail my details are: Jean Duff, 12a Ardminnan Road, Portaferry, Newtownards, Co Down BT22 1QH – Tel: 02842771032 Jean.duff4@btinternet.com

Well Done Jean. Haent herd anything from Wales. Otherwise, Scotland England and Ireland certainly are getting themselves together to promote healthy GSDs and perhaps a show scene that will promote same. Mo.

Hi Jean,
Just a message to say WELL DONE to you and your supporters and we are fully behind you in Scotland. Did mean to get in touch with you sooner, but things are rolling on here in Bonnie Scotland. Your are doing the right thing, just ask your contacts to pass the info to their address book and it is amazing how the ball starts rolling. Keep us posted on how your are progressing (please excuse the pun) and here's to more power to your elbow. On a personal note I really think the KC has underestimated the strength of feeling across the whole of the UK.
All the best
Aileen

I believe it is time to put aside all differences and look to where and what is happening to our breed, or our we to be the Irish ostrich and dig our heads into the sand and in the aftermath of the event and rules, be the one to blame all those who tried or who did not. This is an issue not for others to address but you the GSD Exhibitor and Breeder. It requires no one to stand alone but unite and stand together once for the German Shepherd Breed, not for our own kennel or Club, remember the old saying " United We Stand, But Divided We Fall", so unite for the our breed and let us no longer be seen as the second class citizen of the dog world but claim our right and place to stand on the same level field as all other breeds.
Remember we are one of the breeds who brings in large sums of revenue to this body called the Kennel Club in registrations, and other fees level for exhibiting our dogs, one therefore has to say why should we take this laying down.
To those from the Southern Ireland it does come into effecting you as where in the UK will you be able to show your dogs and will it stop there, this is not for Northern Ireland but when we read through it is England Scotland and Wales already standing united against this, so we in Ireland must united and stand together against this, and remember its not for you or me but the German Shepherd Breed.

What a brilliant post Walter - if we stick to that as our ethos, we wont go far wrong.
