gsdfanatic1964

by gsdfanatic1964 on 29 December 2008 - 18:12

Well, hopefully, I did it right this time.

These are some of the various faces my girl has had over the past 2+ years.  Just thinks it's amazing to watch the transformations.  She went thru one period where there was hardly any black on her face at all only to have it come back a few months later.  She seems redder than ever now.

Thank you all for your patience whilst I was getting this picture thing down.  I guess that means most, if not all the pics I've posted in the past have not shown.  Oh well, live and learn.

I'm so darned happy it worked, I feel as though I've just run a marathon!  haha

Thanks Liz!  I get compliments everywhere we go.  Apparently, people in these parts are not familiar with the deeper colors.  I also get the "Is she a purebred?" and "Isn't she a little small?".  I cannot recall her height but, she's 65lbs and very compact, well built.  People are so used to seeing the oversized, lighter colored shepherds that they are not sure what they're seeing when they see her.

Most people...LOL

Pay them no mind.

She's just fine.

Sunsilver

She's lost most of the mask on her muzzle, which may be what causes people to wonder if she's purebred. Other than that, I think her colour is just STUNNING!  Wish my bitch had her dark pigment!

Thanks Two Moons....She's perfect to me

Thanks for your help sunsilver...i made sure i wrote the process down so as not to forget it in the future!

Yes, she lost the majority of her mask for a while but, it is coming back now...the pics do not do her justice.

I love her pigment and think she's absolutely stunning!  How old is she? My boy has gone through dozens of mask changes, but he's stil a pup. Are the changes seasonal?

London, She's 28 months today.  Yes, the changes seem to be seasonal.  The pics with no black at all on her face was last year's (end of the winter).  It shocked me to see a completely red face for a while.  It happened very quickly too, like in the space of a month.
