Hi all,
I'm new here, my first post. How accurate is the information on this website? I was referred here to look at the pedigree on a puppy I purchased. A big part of my decision was what I saw on the pedigree. Thanks for any help.

WHOAH!!!
Why would you purchase a pup without asking to see its papers?? You should have been given copies of the papers at the time of purchase!! What registry are the parents with? Did you see their papers?
My mind is spinning here...
There ARE mistakes in the PDB, but I'd say the info is 98% accurate. The problem is knowing which of the remaining 2% is NOT accurate!
If you want to be absolutely sure, contact the organization which registered the pup or its parents. They are the ONLY 100% reliable source of information.
Even then, breeders can and DO lie! That's the reason for getting dogs DNA'd, so the frauds can be exposed.

I am new here too, but I have a suggestion. It might not work, but it might be worth a try.
Post the name of your breeder and the blood line of the pup you purchased. Some folks may very well dissect the information for you.
You could find that you have purchased a high quality pup with an impeccable bloodline, or that your breeder is an incompetent crook, and your pup is worth less than that of a mutt picked up off the streets of a third world country.
Good luck.......

I was told the dam was from an import Czech female, something about pink papered. I was told she had been CKC registered, which I do have those papers, but much is missing on the pedigree, but is listed here, on the database. I know she is a nice dog after over 40 years owning GS, but have several questions as I would like to show her in performance classes. If the information here is correct, I was told I could apply for ILP if she is SV registered, which she isn't, but shows sire and dam are here. I know, probably grasping at straws. The breeder is less than cooperative with information. The pup is listed on this site, I posted her a few days ago, Xitta von Lasso Straze. All my past dogs have been AKC registered, my first time to deal with import breeding. Like I said, probably grasping at straws to be able to do anything, that's why I posted here, for help and advice.
Thanks

I have an ILP number for my rescue GSD, and he has NO papers of any kind. I have no clue who his parents are. All y ou need for the ILP is a statement as to why the dog cannot be registered, two clear pictures of the dog (side and front views), signed by your vet to say "this is a picture of Spot von Hund, and in my professional opinion, he is a purebred GSD" and a spay/neuter certificate, signed by the vet who did the surgery.
What about the father? If you can get proof of registry from him, you may be able to get your pup more than an ILP!
