So, I'm sure there may have been similar threads about favorite lines or working dogs or whatever it may be....but specifically which dog is your guys favorite and why? Attach a picture of them if you have one also.

I think mine from a looks standpoint would be Iltis von der Wildsau.  Personally I'm a sucker for the DDR big block heads, dark sable coloring, and brown around the eyes. And even though probably not the working best dog, I like a lot of what I have seen that he has produced.

There are many others I like....definitely more than Iltis from a working standpoint, but I would say he is my favorite dog in general. What about you guys? what German Shepherd dog do you like the best?

Predictable old me, but, Zamp Vom Thermodos. The consumate shepherd, the complete package for me. Looks, conformation, and a fabulous temperament. I know he has his detractors, but hey, each to their own, and as they say, he completely fills my eye.

Zidane v.h. SevensOf course, at this time it is    Zidane, and I have reason to be prejudiced.,. He is ZiBossies'

dad.  Powerful , with the look of a King, and his temperament shows his dignity when he meets you..He looks at you with that confidence and intelligence that he passes on to his young.

I can't quite call this guy my favorite dog, I have never seen him work, and I have not yet been blessed to work with any of his progeny, but I think he is utterly stunning, easy my favorite Hill son in the looks department.

Baden vom GrimOrkie because I love his looks and he a dog that works and I can live with him easily, minus a few hoses chewed up.

I like Scooby-Doo.  He is a bit lacking in the courage department, but he always gets the job done.  He is food motivated and will do anything for a snack.  Excellent tracker,  OFA excellent at 30+ years,  and his bloodline throws Scrappy young pups with outrageous courage.

Nice choice Don, lol.  And KCjaza I don't typically like the looks of a showline, but that dog looks gorgeous.

GSDguy, I like your pic very much as well, I always thought Iltis is a stunner, great structure, masculine, strong type.

Actually, I have to throw out Karo van de Herdersfarm.  www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/123346.html  Not my favorite photo of him on this site, there are much better ones on his owner's website.  I saw this dog make VA at the NASS years ago and fell in love with him. Exceptional color, great worker, totally stable dog mentally, very low ZW. I have seen him in person quite a few times and its difficult for me to explain any other way except that this dog has a compassionate soul, and deep intelligence. Sorry if that sounds corny. I have had the pleasure of working several of this dog's progeny, they are real people pleasers, good drives, good energy, but not the kind of dog the average person could not own and live harmoniously with. I have never seen handler aggression in any of them. This is really a dog more American breeders should have utilized, for what my opinion is worth.  I had planned a litter with him but circumstances sadly did not go my way, with my bitch or my personal life at the time. I know of at least 2 exceptional sons from him and I cannot wait to see them titled so they may continue after their sire.
