Sprinkling a little "Accent" on the food will too.  You can find Accent in the spice isle at the grocery store...

I would consider changing dog food. I'm not real sure, but this is my theory on that subject; I believe the food does not get totally digested, and still has alot of the original make up, coming out, as it had going in.

I have noticed when I used to feed Purina puppy chow,(which I think is Garbage food), that the pups would ALL return to eat  the stools. I now feed Pro-Pac to them, and on a very rare occassion, someone will "return to the poop".

Kit-kat, yes, I found that too! When I changed to a more expensive food, my dog lost interest in her stool.

However, last summer, my year old female started to do this. I bought some tablets at the pet food store, and put them in her food and Ranger's food. It took a few weeks of doing this, but it broke the habit. I forget the name of the tablets now, but if you ask in a pet food store, I'm sure they will know.

I had a female who did this her entire life. Changed foods, added various supplements, used papain additives, etc. The only thing that would prevent her from eating stools was an add on product called Forbid.

Stool eating may occur due to the undigested material in the stool. You see this alot with EPI dogs. Solid gold dog food might be helpful, as it has alot of roughage material, and they tend not to want to re-consume it. I do alot of rescue, and I have noticed that dogs with loose stools over the months(probably some form of EPI) tend to be major stool eaters.  But, then again, maybe they just like the taste??!!
