I'm talking about these new AKC titles and awards. I really like the new OM and OGM awards, it recognizes the people who do a great job but can't quite edge out the goldens and borders for that OTCH. MY girls are pretty consistent 190+ scorers, with the exception of a few shady utility scores. If I don't go for it with one of them, with my next dog for sure. The graduate classes are a great idea, too. Sometimes these classes are big leap from one to another for some dogs. What do you guys think about the new stuff?

I like it too. I'm especially in favor of the new Graduate Novice and Graduate Open titles. It's always seemed to me that the skill jump between these classes was too large. I've got a good friend that's been working on her open for a while but her girl (Dobie) just doesn't get the retrieve over the high jump. She's going for the Grad Novice the first weekend in Jan because it gives her something new to compete in (she alread has her RAE2 title on both of her dogs). I think it'll improve entries since there will be more for folks to do.

They should've called the other one OMG, not OGM. LOL.
Just a joke.
The AKC comes up with some good programs, and some not-so-good ones (their name changing thing and offering papers to dogs who have AKC dogs somewhere in their lineage is just nuts).
Thanks for sharing the info, KC.
