My understanding is that pannus is usually found in older german shepherds and almost always effects both eyes.  While there may be a genetic link (not conclusive) there is also (likely) an enviornmental link.

My question...is anyone aware of an eye problem that is found in a younger dog (year or less) and effects only one eye...but has some of the characteristics of pannus...

If so, any treatment options?

thanks,

Pannus is more often seen in older dogs, but it can be seen in young dogs too. If you have a dog with an eye problem, it behooves you to take the dog to a good vet and let them look at the eye. You do not want the dog going blind because a treatable condition was missed. We would only be guessing.

Pannus does show up eary in some dogs and it is genetic it is autoimmune in nature. If you treat earlyy you can stop it from getting worse. Get to the vet
