Pits now,..... GSDs, Rotts, American Bulldogs next.   This isnt my America anymore.

'Ohio State Representative Tyrone Yates has proposed a bill today that would prohibit the ownership of pit bulls in the state of Ohio. The bill requires all owners to surrender their "pit bulls" within 90 days of the effective date of the proposed law. The bill is unequivocal that the dog warden "shall" euthanize all pit bulls within 10 days of their surrender.

Also under this proposal a dog warden or other officer who has probable cause to believe that a dog is a pit bull dog, may apply for a search warrant. With the search warrant the officer will have the authority to seize the pit bull dog and surrender it to the dog warden to be killed.

Under current Ohio law a vicious dog is defined to include pit bulls regardless of their temperament or behavior, but there is no statewide prohibition on owning and keeping these dogs. The Ohio Supreme Court has upheld Ohio's current law.Click here for more on that. A bill pending in the Ohio legislature, H.B. 366, would repeal the state law that defines vicious dog to include pit bulls. Click herefor more on that bill. '

That's wrong !! My mom is in her seventies and she has pit bulls, nicest dogs and pets ,big babies. one is dead now from old age but they both lived with small kids , small and big dogs , Never a problem with either dog or dogs..its bad owners not bad dogs.I am afraid of pit bulls ,but not my mothers.I've seen labs more aggressive then her pit bulls. The dogs should not be punished for the owner..

Theyre not going to 'punish' the family Pits, theyre going to Kill them.

Because they ARE a Pit, or a breed resembling a Pit.

Ownership has alot to do with it, but so does politics.

America is Broke, Bankrupt & in 2 Losing wars for Israel, but Politicians want to confiscate the family Pit and Kill them...

Thanks Tyrone.

Well my mom would not give her dog up for no one..they would have a fight on their hands.I mean like world war 3..They would have to come with an army..I guess that's what they are hoping for. I will fight that law and i do not live in Ohio..It is time we all say NO to some of this junk..Get rid of the bad dog owners not the breed. Will they stop at the pits and pit look likes ?? after that what breed is next .The rotties,,The shepherd ..Heck Ive seen some pretty nasty biting mixed mutts that have nothing to do with the pits, rotties or shepherds..Things need to change.I'm always locked and loaded..With all the bull in the world you would think they would spend some resources on the real issues.

What Pitbull's aren't banned already?  Next you'll be telling me they let woman vote and coloreds ride up front on the bus!

I thought we were supposed to be moving forward as a society?  Not a big fan of breed banning at all!

This is so wrong, the owner's I know that have a Pitt, Rott ,GSD vs Lab's, the lab's I know would be the first to bite. It is the owners.  The owners of the other breeds took the time to socialize  the dogs and work them, the lab owners were lazy and now have dogs at risk.
