Brought tears to my eyes--- good dog. I really like pits. Most are real snuggle bunnies. Veronica

Now there's a good dog..........safe with the family, but ready to defend no matter what the cost when needed. Very good job D-Boy!

Say what you will about Pits, but when raised correctly (operative word), they are awesome family protectors...

Not only was he lucky to have such a hard skull, but that the rounds put in him were only .22s and not something of a higher caliber. I sure hope that family bought him a steak or cheeseburger or SOMETHING! lol At least it looks like they treat him good, as a member of the family like a dog SHOULD be treated!

what a great story and vid, makes you appreciate the family pet. prior to being into the gsd, i first had only these two pound dogs saved from death row. i love the pits, not the dog for everyone. and the mix is my first psa dog.

Uh, not to be a killjoy, but.... from reading that story, it is not all that clear to me that the dog came running out to protect the family. He could just as easily been doing what he always does when strangers arrive at the door. Maybe I missed it, but it did not seem that the family membetrs were screaming, or otherwise indicating some distress that would cause the dog to go ont the defense/offense. I could be wrong...
