Hi,
I taught my dog the Revier by sending her around the blind and calling her to me for the reward (ball). Jogi Zank showed me how to do it, I didn't think it would work but it worked very well, she needed about ten minutes to understand, speed came with practice.
You let someone hold the dog in front of the blind, you let the dog see the ball in your hand, then walk towards the blind without the dog, staring at it and making it really interesting. Behind the blind you put the ball into your pocket. You walk around the blind and come back to the dog walking backwards, always staring at the blind. You then send the dog around, when the dog is behind the blind you run over to the side the dog is supposed to come out of and make a big hello and party - reward. It's important to add more blinds soon, place them in a circle around you with enough space in the middle.
The Voraus I train with a ball dropper and I vary, sometimes the ball drops from the machine, sometimes I call her back to me for it, I vary the distances and if she is supposed to down or not. The down (Platz) I trained separately and added it when I was sure that she understood what it is.
Hope it helps
Sabine
