this was just posted to a local raw food group:

Hi all,

Sorry for the blast but it appears that my 6 month old GSD puppy, Misha, has been stolen out of her (very secure) kennel, out in the country, here in Thrall, TX (50 miles east of Austin).  It happened between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday, December 8, 2008. She has a tattoo in her right ear (GJ8FLM5), a pink and black collar, and no other identification. She is a very dark black/tan female pup with an outgoing personality.

We have reported her missing, distributing posters and various other activities. I am attaching a picture of her and a poster that can be printed and distributed if so desired.

If anyone has any ideas on how to find or locate her, please email or contact me directly.

Thanks for your help! Donna

Hi all,

I'm the owner of the pup. This is a really fine little girl out of my Beasly vom Belker-Bad and Balco vom Konigswolf. She is also very much loved.

Have your mail person keep an eye out for her. They travel alot of ground and keep an eye open for dogs.!!!

Also consider pulling over the UPS and Fed Ex delivery trucks, heating oil delivery trucks and meter readers that service your vicinity. Give them your fliers. Between them, they probably know everything and every dog in the area. Some of them even knock on doors. The more rural the area, the farther their territories tend to extend. Some might be persuaded to take a couple of extra fliers for their counterparts in adjoining communities.

Good luck. My heart goes out to you.

All good suggestions from other posters. Also Find the school bus routes that travel that way, offer an incentive for the kids if they spot the dog, you'll have lots of little eyes traveling on the look out. It worked here locally when kids on the bus spotted a dog.

EXCELLENT IDEA! No property is really considered private by the kids in the neighborhood, especially in the country.

Offer a good size dollar award on the posters distributed.
