Two Moons

by Two Moons on 10 December 2008 - 18:12

Why has my firewall just blocked two high risk intrusion's from this website ?

OLi, is this a third party or your programming?

Do we have hackers a foot here?

Just curious because I have noticed background activity on this site before.

Anyone else had security alerts from this site?

OK.... disconnected, cleared files, and logged back in.    Third times a charm, this is what I found.

HTTP acrobat PDF suspicious file download.

Moons:

Do you fell like your being whatched? or that people are listening to your phones? When you come home from being gone do you notice things moved ever so slighlty? When your at home in bed do you feel like your not alone?

No bob,

But I don't expect to have security proplems on this kind of website.

Its rare to get this kind of warning.   Has your computer been compromised lately?

Do you not think people like Google do this everyday?

I'll survive, and alter my firewall often.

I just wondered if I was the only one to experience this here today.

Hi Two Moons  I posted a similiar concern last week because I was getting a message about my security and Active X controls to which you said duh it's the Internet. Didn't think so last week which is why I posted and still don't especially since we now know someone hijacked a users name and password and posted under that name.  SOMEONE is messing with the board and I do think it is a concern.

TIG,

I remember.

(Its the internet) means,  there is nothing secure or private on the internet.   All you need is the right knowledge, if you don't have the knowledge you can buy programs to use.

Anyway, I have bigger fish to fry.   Seems this is in my system already and has done this again on another website.

Still the database has had its troubles and I still don't care for google.

I'll clean house as soon as I shut down.

i posted on another thread that i thought there were 'crackers' here (i said 'hacker' but was correct by my ds & dh - hacking is good cracking is bad:) but i was roundly dismissed, and told it was not so.  my computer was 'cracked' and since my internet presence is very small i believe it was someone who found me on this site.  my security system prevented them getting very far though i did have to do a clean install.  i believe some people here who can't handle differing opinions don't/won't retaliate via posting nasty posts but instead go after your computer and i believe there is more than one. also as a side note i just read an article that said 'crackers' were winning the cyberwar security programs just can't keep up. it's beyond my comprehension why some people wish to spend their time with such endeavors but clearly they do. seems like one needs to become a "hacker" to prevent 'crackers'
