1. A Big Thank You to all of you who have given tips on breaking up 2 fighting dogs (females). My daughter condo 2nd story roof caved into the first floor. Asbestos and Insurance, then haz mat involved. so now I have daughter, boyfriend and Female GSD move home have been here about a month and just got thru the haz matt so now can start the rebuild. Her female and mine playing together, 2 small squabbles and I am yelling at everyone to keep those 2 seperate. Well mine protects the hall to my office, you can have her food, toys, pull her tail she could care less. Everyone leaves and leaves them out, I am in office with door shut and working, I hear all heck break lose outside my office, I open the door and my male is looking at me like well now what, I opened a bedroom door and shoved him in and shut the door. They are at like they are going to kill each other. They are up and down the hall, in and out of bedrooms where the doors are open, I am grabbing them pulling, and finally got bit but good and thought enough of this, once back into hall pulled rear feet of my female to office down hall and shut the door on the other one, while body blocking door pryed the mouth open and she got her again, while the shut out one is pushing to get in. Pryed her jaw again and got them apart and kept pushing the door shut while letting up to give the other one the idea to back out. My daughters went in for the kill, My female was hit where the veins located, under arms and neck, she took 3 shunts to drain and stitches. My daughter's females ear need reconstructive surgery. I got IVS for infection and a pain killer. I am not sure about the advice on stray dogs thou when having to go in to emergency, they began talking Rabies shots, I fessed up quickly, my dogs and not sure which one (I know, but not telling). Told them I broke up fight, not meant to bite me. I have broken up a few fights over my life time, but nothing like this, even the time on the field when a dog came at me thinking I was the decoy and no sleeve was I as scared as I was this one. this could have been alot worse, there was so much blood, everywhere, wished I took a picture for the next one who asked about why they can not keep 2 females together. THANK YOU FOR THE TIP ON PULLING THE LEGS, IT WORKED.................................
i HAD A GIRL SCOUT troop, we earned the horse riding badge, for reward took the troop trail riding. My horse broke and the trail was on side of Mountain and very thin. Horse lost footing and began the slide down this Moutain (not HILL). I remembered, if ever have to dismount in emergency to place hands on horse to let him know where you are so he can get his footing without taking you down, he knows where you are. Well I jumped off and the hardest thing I ever did was get my footing and place my flat hands on his belly, while everything in me screaming to get the hell out of the way. That advice worked to!!

Yikes! Glad you're still in 1 piece! Good save! And the horse advise...they'll try their damnedest not to step on you, but you do have to let them know where you are.....was teaching this to my granddaughter just the other day-always keep your hand on the horse while grooming, that way you don't get kicked, either. jh
