I would like to do this breeding in a few months for a puppy to keep. These are both extremely strong dogs. The bitch is trialing for her SchH1 in February. She is a full sister to Escha and Ziggy v. Tiekerhook by Max and Noery. She is a powerhouse. The sire speaks for himself. Does anyone have any thoughts/interest re: this breeding?

I really would like to try this breeding, but not at the expense of having to keep a whole litter of super drivey dogs.
Thanks

I like a strong dog so for me why not, but you need to strongly look at who do most of your puppies go to pet homes or working homes. You are line breeding on some super strong dogs who have been known to produce strong dogs with high aggression. These pups if they turn out like the pedigree says then you may not be able to place them with the average pet or weekend warrior. Just my 2 cents.

You may want to be careful with linebreedings on Yoschy, it has produced some handler aggressive dogs. This breeding may be ok, but, as Eisenfaust said you need to know your market. I would like a dog from this breeding as I like the dogs in the pedigree. I also like strong dogs that most people wouldn't want or couldn't handle. There are some super producers in those 2 pedigrees, but not for pet homes.

I've a 3-3,4 linebred Yoschy, and am familiar with another 3-3 linebred Yoschy dog from my club, and neither have any handler aggression issues. Just suggesting that perhaps Yoschy isn't the common denominator, or the handler and the socialization approach may alleviate any concerns you may have. I also would like to see the results of this breeding :-)

I have a Yoschy grandaughter with an impeccable temperment. I really like what Yoschy has produced and would look for him in future dogs that I consider. It is well known in Germany that too much "Yoschy" in a pedigree can cause handler aggressive dogs. Heinz Gerdes and I discussed this back in 2001. I like this breeding and would seriously consider a pup from a pedigree like this for myself. 3-3 may be far enough out as to not cause a problem with the right owners.
FWIW,

Thank you very much for the input everyone. Both dogs live at my house, are excellent with my young children and guests, no food/toy guarding problems. Both dogs would be too over the top for average pet homes if they hadn't had serious obedience training, simply because they are so powerful. I love this type of dog, but most homes don't. So...with that said I will probably do this breeding in March/April and would be eager to have strong working homes lined up.

I've been around a couple Yoschy pups. a brother and sister. the brother was handler aggressive, and his sister was just plain evil (I say that with affection though). She was a naughty girl who had no problem jumping up and giving you a surprise love nip. Very intense, very focused dogs. the male required a very strong hand and proper corrections.
can't say it all came down thru Yoschy though, the mother was a rocket too, got all her titles (sch1-3) in just a few months.

Wow that looks like it would produce a dog that should go only to experience handlers. It's def not my cup of tea :). As I like balance in my life :). If I would be looking for a only working dog I would def concider, but not one to be placed in a family enviroment. Just my opinion. :)
