I am just curious at how many people/breeders...?...feed "RAW CHICKEN" to their dogs...I was told by a research doctor that feeding Raw Chicken was one of the best things for your dogs...and now I'm being told by another vet that DON'T feed it to your dogs..."You wouldn't eat Raw Chicken...would you?"...So I'd just like to hear your thoughts on the matter...

Q-Man
I feed raw chicken primarily... dogs love it and its cheap here... there is a chicken farm close and I get it free... Vets dont agree with the "raw diet" anyway. All people have their opinions.

I have fed raw, primarily chicken for almost 3 years now. I haven't had a problem with it at all. My 4 yr old son thinks chicken IS dog food. LOL

Ask the vet how the dog is supposed to cook it!!
Dogs have different gastric levels to us, and have evolved differently. The are not designed to eat cooked food, and raw is natural to them.
All my dogs regularly get raw chicken, beef bones etc. Just remember what is natural to them and generally you cant go wrong. My dogs also love carrots and will occasionally steal potatoes.

My only concern is to keep everything clean and wash up after handling raw chicken, also avoid any cross contamination if you prepare the dog's food in your kitchen.
I do not trust what's in commercially raised chicken's, I buy what I can from an individual in my area. And I don't feed it often.
I don't feed a strickly raw diet, I ad what I want to my base which is dry dog food, along with non meat item's and fish.
Everybody does it different.

How do you excatly feed a raw chicken? Do you buy a whole chicken and cut it into small parts?

I buy chicken leg quarters and just hand out (for example) two leg quarters to the dog. So I'm not feeding the entire chicken. When I find them in the store or at the market, I'll also buy the packs of "backs & necks" and feed those, too.
These is not the only thing they eat. IMHO if I was going to feed exclusively raw, I'd feed K9 Kraving or a similar balanced diet, but that's me. A lifetime of exclusively eating chicken legs I can't believe would provide the correct balance of vitamins and minerals to a working dog.

I split the whole chicken in half and take the death bone off the drumstick. I have a bucket of EVO, vinegar, minced up garlic, carrots and spinich etc, dip the chicken halves in the bucket, the EVO keeps the flame on the chicken for a short time. I repeat this about 4-6 times. My dogs like the skin of their chickens crispy. Granduer will eat a whole chicken this way, Sara eats a half.
I cook with pits and fire all the time, so don't try this in the average kitchen. LOL
I got 2 deer in that past 3 days, so tonight all the dogs are over for a "scrap" party. I think I'll use 8 year old Mesquite flame and Mulberry embers. :o)~
