A 2yo GSD that used to be a police dog, for how long 8 minutes? Also the fact that the guy can't even spell the breed correctly is always a red flag. I wish I had the time to drive over there but we do bitework at 9am and that park is at least 30 minutes from here.
The good thing is that it is raining so maybe nothing will come of this.

well, it worked for me.......copy and paste.
what's the big deal? suspicious? somebody has a police wash-out that they want to re-home. they aren't even asking anything for him him other than a good home. lots of dogs get dumped every day. at least this person is looking for a home for the dog. i hope it works out for the sake of the dog.

People give away dogs all the time, yes, but they also lie all the time. Like a GSD I saw that was sold to a pet home after " he was being trained for the CTA and they didn't need any more dogs". Dog had next to no real obedience, the breeder said he had done protection work , but the poor dog was so grossly overshot his lower jaw was maybe half the size of his upper jaw, at best. I told them plainly that there was no way that dog could ever grip a sleeve properly. And to top it off, the dog was a poorly constructed blue.
I too, hope the dog finds a loving home regardless of any shady circumstances regarding his rehoming.

Dog looks very nice to me! Any one missing a dog out there? Could be trying to dump it off on someone because they took it themselves? At 2 years olds, most dogs are just getting started in police work. Hard to believe this dog use to be a police dog and is no longer. Hard for me to believe anyway. Just the way I read the post I guess.

I'm not overly thrilled with the idea of putting an animal on Craigs list, actually I hate that you can..... I have posted a few things (inanimate objects only)and gotten a whole bunch of nut job replies from all over..
Its just not the right forum and no reputable person, whether the dog is a washout from a PD or not...( and I also doubt it, he's too young) will advertise on Craigs list in this manner

I for one would NEVER even consider selling a dog, puppy, or any animal on Craigslist. I happen to be fortunate that , as it is, I have waiting lists for my pups, Shepherds and Yorkies. And, as far as, it was even blue goes, I think BLUE dogs get a BAD RAP, and REP all the way around. I believe the dog was going to be poorly constructed, NO MATTER WHAT COLOR IT WAS. I have a blue Shepherd, and he is beautiful, out of nice DDR lines. I recently got Blue Yorkie pups out of New Yorkie Show dogs I got, and I had Blue Dobermans Years ago out of Great Doberman Bloodlines. THE DOGS THEMSELVES ARE THE SAME DOGS AS THE "Correct" colored littermates. ALL the Myths about the color BLUE are, as far as I'm concerned, just that, MYTH'S. If you never had a Blue dog, you shouldn't criticize them.
Again, in my fathers words, Believe NOTHING of what you HEAR, AND , Half of what you SEE!

yes i saw this ad on craigslist and laughed myself. My husband is a K9 handler in the metro area so I am curious of what dept. this person is claiming this dog worked for. The ad has now been removed from craigslist.
