I'm just curious as to what treats you guys use when it comes to training? Liver treats? hot dogs? or what? I'd just like to see what everyone out there is using, and what seems to work the best for your dog, and where do you get yours at?

I used to make my own. Liver cake... yuk, but the dogs all love it! If I ran out, I always used fishy cat bisuits... perfect size!

I have used/made liver cookies or pieces of lunch meat, like turkey. Also for my one dog his favorite treat is a stick!! Hey they are cheap! Also some of my dogs were ball crazy so toys sometime out weighed a food treat.

When using food, raw carrots cut into small bites. Otherwise tugs and balls on a rope.

I cube up Natural Balance dog food rolls. It's healthy, my dogs love it, keeps for a long time in the fridge, and you can get it at the pet store.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS USE WHEN IT'S REAL HOT OUT?ALL THESE SUGGESTIONS SOUND GOOD.HOW DO THEY HOLD UP IN THE HEAT WHEN TRAINING LONG ?MY LAST DOG I TRAINED WAS NOT FOOD MOTIVATED,I THOUGHT LIVER WOULD BE GOOD ,I JUST WASN' T SURE IF IT WOULD SPOIL.

I just started to make my own beef and chicken liver treats. Both dogs love them and I use them for tracking.I save alot of money making them then buying them. Much more healthier for them also. I also use the ball for everything else.

Scrambled eggs, cheese cubes, hot dogs, dehyrated turkey hearts, all big hits here. Sometimes buy some salmon treats or wellness pure rewards too.
