got this one today.

Hello, my name is Daniel Forlam, I just found your puppy and i would like immediate purchase, I am definitely satisfied with the price and am willing to make quick purchase, I am serious about buying it so I would like total honesty and would like to implore you to ward off other buyers and as for the payment, it\'s going to be inform of a cashiers check or money order (your choice) and it will be drawn from a US bank, I am going to issue you an overdraft payment, when you receive it you will deduct your payment and send the remaining funds to my mover who will handle the pick-up to my location so if that is fine by you i will like you to email me with this information as follows so i can send the payment to you: YOUR FULL NAME........ ADDRESS................... STATE................. ZIP CODE.............. PHONE NUMBER........... so i will be expecting your mail with your soonest reply. thanks. P:S I WILL LIKE YOU TO PLEASE ATTACH YOUR PRICE ALONG WITH YOUR REPLY, THIS TO CONFIRM THAT I HAVE SEEN THE RIGHT PRICE. THANK YOU. Daniel Forlam. danielforlam@yahoo.com

The scammers wouldn't try it if they couldn't find people who fall for that crap. A sucker is born every minute. LOL

OMG, I got an email like that as well ...with the same format from 2 different people. They are suppose to send me a check in the mail by cashier check or money order. I guess I won't cash it now if that is what happen to other people owning money back to the bank. I asked for one of the guys number and he avoided the question!

I have advertised on craigslist {free classified} and I have had the EXACT same response. I showed my husband because I thought it sounded strange... but I went ahead and sent him my information. A few days later I did receive a check for quiet a bit over my asking price and I called the bank that was on the check to find out it was a phony.. which I already knew it would be. These people have you cash the checks and then send them over half of it for the movers to come pick up the merchandise.

Thats my experience with this.

WHEN YOU ADVERTISE ON CRAIGS LIST, OR ANY OF THE "FREE"SIGHTS, THAT IS WHAT YOU GET"!

TWO YEARS AGO "I WAS ONE OF THOSE SUCKERS" ,my check came UPS from Philadelphia,Pa. The banks couldn't  even tell it was a counterfeit check. I DID get arrested.

The charges were later "dismissed,"  ALL I DID WAS ADVERTISE ON THOSE CRAPPY SITES. I spoke with the "so-called buyer" numerous times on the phone. The check came from PA., so don't believe that there ain't LOCAL people trying to rob you too. It was a NIGHTMARE!

Thank GOD, that I have built myself up a good enough reputation in my area, with my dogs that I don't have to do that much advertising anymore. On occassion I take out a LOCAL AD. I have GREAT DOGS, and a GREAT GUARANTY with them ( I basicly guarantee my dogs for life against genetic defects. Can't say I've EVER had to honor a guarantee, because I breed to eliminate Genetic Defect in my dogs"

STRICT POLICY: No Checks or Money Orders for me ANYMORE!

SELLER BEWARE!

It's called the Nigerian scam and the FBI has a department just for fighting them.

At times I've gotten so many of them, 9 fake to one real,  for anything I had advertized for sale that it became hard to decide which people were honest.

The worst is when you have pups for sale and the email starts with "I want to purchase you OBJECT", Ugh.

I read a great article from a lady who would work with the FBI and string the scammers along right to the pick up of the money where the FBI would arrest the jerks.

A friend of mine was selling a boat. When some scammers tried to get him to take a check larger than the price of the boat and my friend said no, the scammer threatened him. He ended up changeing his phone number( to an unlisted one), since the scammer was calling day and night.
