For those of you that earned your Sch. 1, what did you do specifically to prepare for it? I'm getting ready to get my own dog his title this spring. I know you can't see his obedience, but what did you do that helped prepare you and your dog for it? Did you do everything routinely? Did you surprise the dog by mixing it up? Any advice would help!

Thanks,

Emily.

the same way you got your BH , except  you have dumbbell this time . I hope you are going to a schH club because you can not do this by yourself .You need  other people to check and spot you .

Yep. Alot of people at my club have given me a ton of advice. I just like to see if there are any other techniques people used. :)

There's a saying..."fight like you train and train like you fight". If the training you and your dog has received is good then there's no reason to believe that you two will do fine. Your dog will think nothing different then say any other training days.

I only practice one or two excersizes at a time, occasionally more (out of order) but sometimes only part of an ex, and I mix them up a lot. I only do the entire routine in order once a week or two before the trial. Anothe thing we used to do with novice handlers is take them out on the field for a routine with an experienced club member in place of their dog (helper and all) complete with handling critique at the end.

GOOD LUCK!
