pet owner tax in california - Page 1

i just got an email from bill hemby at petpac. our governor is proposing to tax california pet owners on their veterinary services among other things. heaven forbid that we tax the rich on their new yachts! anyway, go to the petpac home page and sign the petition. maybe we can stop this before it gets any momentum. many areas in calif are very expensive to live in and vet care tends to be pricey. adding a tax on that may mean alot of people won't be able to get the vet care their pets need.

I just saw the e-mail from PetPac.  I signed it, but I can't link to it for some reason.  Angusmom  can you figure out a link to the petition?

On a different note, when I googled PetPac, I came up with another interesting website called PetPac Nonsense.  Out of curiosity I clicked on it.  This is a good example of how anybody can write anything and publish it on the web.  This site is so full of bullshit and inaccuracies it's a joke.  Unfortunately there are a lot of people who will read this shit and take it as gospel.

on the right side there is a reference to the petition and you can click on it, then sign the petition. i wonder who is behind the other websites? peta, hsus?

I signed.... I live here in Ca., and it is expensive enough, vet care is no exception, not to mention the cost of living. However, gas prices are going down.... WOO HOO!!

I already have to pay a dog tax. And sales tax.  And income tax's.  I support everyone's medical insurance with my cigarette tax, the highest tax of all by the way, higher than alcohol tax.

California should have a usage tax on Hummer's.    See if the governor likes that one.
