I had a bitch who had major stomach problems thoughout her early weeks, lots of vomiting, upset stomach and even major stomach surgery.

She went on to mature to full size with no other problems and died naturally at the age of 10 in her sleep.

Just feed a quality feed, dont try and compensate for what he's lost and he'll do fine.  I would also stay away from the scales as its easy to become obsessive.  Just use a soft hand across his ribs for guidance on whether he is thin/fat or just right!

I do recommend the use of plain yogurt on the food after a bad stomach as it helps to reintroduce bacteria into the digestive system.

I also recently had a female puppy who at 4 months became very sick and did not eat properly for nearly a month, she could not seem to digest anything. She weighed about the same after a month as she had before becoming sick and was very thin. I posted about her here in another thread and several people had helpful suggestions. In the end I bought a bag of Royal Canin puppy starter food and maybe she was getting better at this stage anyway, but this food really seemed to help. She ate it eagerly, put on weight very quickly and is now nearly 6 months, absolutely fine and normal size. She missed our sieger show in september but last weekend was able to compete for the first time in another show where she came first! I also used yogurt as recommended by Beepy, and vitamin B complex, which helps to stimualte the appetite. I am sure your pup wil be fine.

what are you feeding him discuss that first. It could be anything from an imbalance of dietary constituents to the quality of food you are feeding.

discuss that first before taking advice

cheers
