So, what do you guys know about Tiekerhook lines? Do any of you know anything out of Max, or any others? I'm getting a male puppy out of Mambo z Pohranicni Straze as a future competition dog , should be born January 4th.....but I also intend to get a female for sport later on in 2009....something with over the top drives.....preferably a lot of hardness, independence, and just all around great working ability. What would you guys say are the strengths in the Tiekerhook lines....and the weaknesses.... I watched the video of both Max, and his sire Nick....both dogs seem to be very hard, very intense in protection, but somewhat lacking in obedience as they seemed stubborn to listen to the commands, and I think Nick had to be forced to sit down at one point because he wouldn't listen. Just doing homework before I get into anything.

That WG Pedigree is pretty solid, IMHO. 50% of that entire pedigree to the 3rd generation all had Bunde appearances so I would expect it would produce something good. Go back further and you will see even more.
Look no further than Nick Vom Heiligenbosch though, for me he was just an awesome, awesome dog and produced some incredible progeny as well.
Nick used him extensively in breeding program which has produced a good number of KNPV Dogs. Koos may have produced more KNPV GSD's than anyone else, I do not know for sure. But he has been breeding for over 30 years and was a real K9 handler for a long time.
I have seen a bunch of offspring from Nick and he did produce very hard dogs with high drive and always looking to bite something. Max Tiekerhook, he is OFF the hook. If you want a KNPV GSD then Tiekerhook has the dogs that can do the job, if you have what it takes to handle dogs that are 2-2 Nick 3-3 Yoschy 4-4 Troll and 5-5 fero .

582 Nick Progeny in the database alone and you know that is not all of them!

I have a nasty little bitch, whom I LOVE, who is a granddaughter of Tom, with Ellex on the mother side. I am considering a 3-5 on Nick for a mating. I think this will produce a litter of very resilient (and noisy) offspring that are highly intelligent and therefore requiring the same qualities in their handlers (minus the noisiness). I have been doing some research on Nick myself lately and saw the video. I think that the obedience issues are a matter of training and cannot be considered to be inherent in the dog's character. I have heard that Nick's legacy of progeny is outstanding.

I am very happy with the Tiekerhook lines that I have worked. My close friend has a Max son over a Tom daughter and the dog is great. Over the top drives and nerves of steel. This dog will not back down from anything and is being trained for PSA. I also had a grandson with Norbo Ben-Ju over Ludo van Tiekerhook, very nice dog . My female goes back to Carmen II van Tiekerhook, very nice bitch that loves to bite.
