Good News:

Our township recently elected several animal lovers to its ranks.  I am looking for info from communities that have developed a dog park, including  funding and management.

Please contact me privately.  Thanks, Diane Madigan

Your dog has one bad experience.... and its all over. However I did it when mine was 12 weeks to 4 mos. just for socializing, and it worked great. I was just VERY careful about having his vaccs, and watching for aggressive dogs. I even taught him that if he heard a scuffle, to stay away from it and come sit by me. At 4 mos I stopped because I had been lucky not to have any issues and I did not want to push it. It is inevitable

Diatbda,

I agree that a  (dog park) is someplace I'd rather not go.   I do see the need in a major city where other place's may not be available but I'm sure they have the resources to handle liability and maintainance.

Good luck if you do but I would not want to go to one if I had other option's.

Moon's.

LOL...SS

I am remembering a post about some guy's business of going around and picking up poop for a fee.

The one thing I hate about going somewhere popular with dog walker's is the poop telegraph, dog's leaving message's for the other dog's to read..    And the fun of stepping in a message not meant for me.

Dog parks would be great if everyone cleaned up after their dog, kept them up to date on shot's and didn't have parasite's to spread.     And if human's actually had any sense when it come's to controling their dog's.

There is nothing like open space's and uncharted territory to explore.

Trespasser's beware sign's be damned.

LOL

SS that was funny :)

lol

It is not the dog parks that are bad is the stupid people that own the dogs, lack of controll, too lazy to clean up after their dogs. :)

Eisenhower Park in MIlford CT has an off-leash dog park. Also Winslow Park,  Westport CT has a dog park.
