There have been some really good programmes on over here telling to story of family members time through their service of WWI - its been so good to see WWI brought to life again.

Its important that we remember those who have served and those still serving today.

Happy Veterans Day!!!!

This is what it is all about..................

FREEDOM..................................

Freedom to get up in the morning & brush your teeth...............................

Freedom to start your day the way you want to start your day.....................................

Freedom to just plain lie around the house & not worry someone is going to bomb you..........................

Freedom to believe in GOD...............................................................

Freedom to believe in your neighbor & that your neighbor believes in you.................................................

Thanks!    to all veterans that have served & who are now serving, I really miss my brother Billy today,

althought he was a sargent in the vietnam war, he was a humble human being that believed people

could eventually ALL get along and live peacefully together,

I miss you Billy..........................................

I too would like to thank US veterans, especially one group who has never had justice.

This would be the veterans of the USS LIBERTY.  In 1967, they were deliberately attacked By Israel,. Over 5000 50 caliber rounds hit the ship, they were Napalmed, burned alived, Hit with Torpedoes,  even had their leife rafts shot-a war crime.

There was a cover up of the incident by President Johnson & John McCains Father. Over 34 US seamen were Killed & 170 wounded, some gravely. They were ordered Never to speak...., or face 'jail or worse'. Only recently have some coe forward & transcripts now prove that the ship was ID'd as American before the attack.

As President Abraham Lincoln once noted, America as a nation was impregnable to invasion and defeat by an outside foe, and were she ever to fall it would be due to the destruction caused to her from within.

No, rather the real enemy is to be found right here, in those individuals who wield power and influence and who work tirelessly against us in the executive offices and meeting rooms located in New York and Washington DC. Our enemy doesn’t speak with a funny accent or wear funny clothes, but rather the expensive suits worn by gangsters who disguise themselves as media executives and as politicians. But there is one thing the media/government complex did accurately portray, which is the fact that our enemy hates us for our Christian values, and that he has no regard for human life.

May we never forget the sacrafice of others for the freedoms that we share, MY Country is a GREAT Country even with leaders we may not fully agree with.  This is still the greatest Nation to live in, and I am PROUD to be an American, PROUD to have served my Country, and I thank and honor those who have given the ultimate sacrafice for this GREAT NATION!

Thanks for the Freedom, Vets

 Lew Rockwell, November 11, 2008 10:56 AM
 Phil Hensley:

On a day like today it is important to be thankful for all the freedoms we enjoy in this country:

In America, we enjoy the freedom of giving Half our Income to an Unconstitutional Federal Reserve, which is Neither Federal, nor a Reserve.   We have the Freedom to participate in a Ponzi scheme known as Social Security.  We have the Freedom to vote for the president. Unlike the voters of Iraq under Saddam Hussein, who only had one choice for president, we have two choices!

We have the Freedom to choose between Republican-led big government programs and Democrat-led big government programs.

We have the Freedom to use government-controlled money, which loses value every year. We have the Freedom to Subsidize the poltically-connected agricultural, automotive, and banking industries. We have the freedom of sending children through the compusory government-run education system, and then pay for job training for those that get through 12 years of schooling and still don't know how to do anything.

We have the freedom to own guns, provided that said gun is approved by the government and we pass the government-mandated background check. If we get the appropriate permits and stand in then proper free-speech zone, we have the freedom to protest.

Thanks to all the veterans that defended these freedoms and kept them from being taken away!

Uglydog - Not really sure if this was from Letterman, but I get sick of seeing Americans bitch about our country:

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President.. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.

So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?'

A.

Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?
B.

Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?
C. Could it be that 95.

4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
D.

Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

E. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state.

F.

Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?
G. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either.

H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

I. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home.

J. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family, and your belongings.

K. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or pr
