Have you ever used Bag Balm for GSD's chapped lips?  Wondering - thanks in advance.

by Abhay on 10 November 2008 - 01:11

All I know is about 6 months ago, Two Moons told me to use it for a lip balm and the girls would want to kiss.  Moons said the petroleum jelly, and lanolin makes the lips moist and juicy. Two Moons also said the antiseptic, 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate would prevent any of those herpes being transfered from kissing naughty girls.

So far, so good!  That Two Moons sure knows his balms.

Bag Balm is excellent for any kind of hot spot or cut your dog or horse may have.  I use it all the time.

Bag balm works well for any part of the skin that is dry and irritated. I use it to diminish elbow callouses on my dogs. They have soft places to lie, but still get them.

Regards,

Thanks you guys for the information.  We used it all of the time growing up with the horses - but was unsure if there was any danger of putting it on lips or lip folds.  I did call "Bag Balm" - Dairy Association to check it out and they said it was safe.....so there you go.  Off to apply some to his smackers.
