Just getting answers, Not my dog.... But I would like to pass the information on.
Our recently adopted dog has been diagnosed with a serious accumulation of copper in his liver. I'd like to provide him with home-cooked meals rather than using the Hills prescription diet. If anyone has experienced this with their dog and has a professionally prepared recipe that they'd like to share, I'd love to hear from you.

Hi,for a diet like this where a dogs health is comprimised,I would contact a Vet-Nutritionist that is Board Certified such as Dr.Sean Delaney(www.balanceit.com),or Dr.Remillard(www.petdiets.com),or Dr.Julia Churchhill(U of M).These are 3 of probably 7 or 8 in North America that are actual Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists. These people have EXTENSIVE nutritional knowledge. You said a homemade COOKED diet correct

Thanks for the input. Dominic, I contacted balanceit.com and they replied that they currently do not have a diet for dogs with copper toxicity but gave a wonderful list of resources. petdiets.com is a possibility which will be next. I'm not sure if the raw diet is appropriate, but I will email Margaret Bradley and ask. Thanks for your input and most of all for your support!
