Interesting. The mutation of dogs into distinct breeds makes it now possible to differentiate between breeds. Genetically, the miniture version of the poodle did not appear to correspond with the genetics of the more original type, the standard poodle.
I thought it was not yet concluded whether or not there may have been another species in addition to the gray wolf that contributed to the genetics of the domestic dog, which canine might have become extinct in the 14,000 years since the dog was domesticated? But it appears that the gray wolf is now accepted to be the sole contributor to the creation of the dog?
