My female gets a diet comprising of raw minced lamb, green tripe, liver and chicken necks and wings. Anyway last night she ate her dinner. Today in the morning she pooped, it was normal(small and chalky) but 2 minutes later she threw up. Her vomit was bright yellow. Could this be because of the chicken bones?

Good morning AristianM,Usually yellow vomit is bile.Perhaps she is digesting the food fast and her stomach is empty.Do you feed her twice a day at least?Sometimes they need a little more food OR it may also be that some dogs dont do well on the raw in general.I thought you had said a week or so ago that she was getting the Innova Evo,have you switched her?I too was looking at feeding my 2 boys raw but decided to wait till there is some scientific research backing the claims.

I have been feeding raw for years and have never had such healthy dogs, and I'm not alone on this list... there are lots of raw feeders out there
I'm curious as to why you put so much into one meal? do you have any guidelines for your raw based diet?? Have you checked out Dr Ian Billinghurst?? He has written an number of books which are all worth getting.. I use mine for reference all the time.. He also has a website, you just need to google his name and BARF (BIOLOGICALLY Appropriate Raw food)....
As for studies to prove that raw is safe?? good luck with that..... who would fund such a study?? The commercial dog food companies have their controlled studies performed and for some reason people feel safe with that... the truth of the matter is.. the criteria for those studies are maybe 6 months long with a handful if dogs and the goal is that none of them DIE during the testing phase!! If no dogs die or get sick, then the food is declared appropriate for all life stages... themost ridiculous thing I've ever heard and people are lulled into thinking exaclty that.. that the crap that comes inthe bag (and I don't care whose nameis on it, its crap) is actually good for their dogs.
do some research on your own.. our dogs stomachs are different than ours..... their needs are different than ours.. i will tell you about my studies... my dogs hardly ever need to go to the vet, we rarely have loose stools (on kibble, it was a regular occurrence and a total blowout event!!), they have energy and are shiny and bright....
I hope this helps you some and you will figure this out.. I'm sure the folks on this list can help ... good luck..you can also email me off list.. since I rarely check message pages once the thread leaves the first page

I had one girl vomit bile every now and then in the morning, early. Nothing wrong with her. Since i have started feeding every 12 hours she has not done so. Before they were getting fed 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM, now it's 3:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Just my experience with something that sounds similar.

Dkiah i did hours and hours and hours of research before i started my girl on the raw diet. I know that dogs can handle bacteria because of the 50% concentration of hydrochloric acid in their gut and their short digestive tracks. My female is doing GREAT on the raw diet. Its been 2 weeks since i started it and her allergies are GONE! YAY! So is the ear infection, she is just full of energy. Stamina has also doubled! :D Poop is nice and dries up in a day. Its easy to pick up! Domenic i decided to stop the innova evo because of the things you told me. I researched and found out 2 weeks before you told me. :P...thanks anyway brother!
Dkiah she gets chicken wings, chicken backs and necks in the morning. I also give her yoghurt with every meal. She gets lamb mince, tripe, heart and lamb neck at night. Yesterday night i was short of many things so i decided to mix everything up.

Yellow = empty stomach. She may need to eat twice a day instead of just once.

If we get up late on the weekends, mine will vomit yellow bile too.. empty tummy and breakfast is late! Never had chicken bones cause it though. We've been feeding raw 5 years.
