hello i am new to this forum   ( well been reading posts for a while )

I want to start training my dog for his BH test but i dont have a club near me and i dont drive either:(

Iwas wondering if you could give me some hints and tips.

i am really struggling with heelwork

Welcome to the forum. 

Is the dog pictured in your caption your first GSD?  Looks really nice.

It would be interesting to know the age of the dog, what its temperament, like and also what he has already learnt .

I am also a novice in dogsport and I would definately recommend getting hold of  Ivan Balabanov's book which is co-written with Karen Duet  "Advance Schutzhund" and both his DVDs "Clear Communication" and "The Game".  I like his approach.

I have also seen many other handlers starts off  with luring the dog with food and then later reverting to a toy/ ball. 

Most important aspect for teaching the dog is rewarding the dog at the right moment in time.  Patience is key.

Go on youtube. Watch a lot of videos.  You'll see a some of what not to do but you'll also see some that does.
