Hello,
Apart from travelling hundreds of miles to the only veterinary establishment that I am aware of in Nantwich, Cheshire that abides to the SV rules for A-Stamp for Hips, Elbows and DNA, does anyone has other recommendations of vets located south of the country, close to Greater London Area perhaps?
Any suggestions/ advice is much appreciated.

Sally Rackham in Suffolk does this, Hawkedon Veterinary Practice, tele 01284-789428. Would probably be best to speak to her in person.

Thank you Qabru for your quick response.
Did you wait long to get your results back from Germany assuming you had your dogs done in UK?
Thanks again.

I did have quite a wait but that was in the early days when it had just become available in the UK. Hopefully things have improved now?

Thanks Beepy and Tigermouse,
I have heard of Marilyn from Wanitopa. However, I believe she does the X-rays for the BVA hips/ Elbows but not the German SV A-stamp requirements for Hips and Elbows to be recognised/ approved in Europe. My breeder is Dutch and this would benefit the Zuchtwert ratings in his breeding. I am sure the expense will benefit me too in the long run (I hope) :)
Suffolk is not a millions miles from me which is good. I was wondering whether they are anymore veterinary clinics that do just this which is so hard to find. Seems like it is only "word out of mouth".
Cheers anyway.

poseidon - I apologise for my ignorance - but how come the xray's from Marilyn are not suitable for Germany. I obviously wrongly assumed that UK plates could be sent with the appropriate paperwork to be screened in Germany.
I am aware of a breeder who always has UK and German screening done and uses Marilyn for her UK plates, would you like me to enquire how they get the German side done?

Beepy,
All I understand is that the German SV regulations for A-Stamp Hips and Elbow has to be done specifically like positioning of the plates, A3 size X-rays and perhaps the list goes on. Only vets with SV approval as I was told.
If you can find out more and share your findings here, I am sure it will benefit others too. The SV site is in german BTW.

The SV Hips, Elbows 'a' stamp sceme, and the SV DNA parentage test in the UK are administered by Sid Farley REGISTRAR for the GSD League & BAGSD - the two WUSV GSD Clubs in the UK. I suggest the Vets who are 'approved' to take the x-rays for this scheme will be available from Sid. The x-ray requirements for the 'a' stamp differ from the x-ray requirements of the BVA/KC Scheme, and separate xrays & plates are required. I am surprised these WUSV Clubs have yet to introduce the "SV Dental Notation Scheme" here in the UK.
