Hi All,

I love movies with/about dogs especially german shepherds, my all time favorite is an old Disney movie called "Love Leads the Way"  it is about the first seeing eye dog for the blind, a german shepherd named Buddy.  It is such an awesome movie, I have a copy on vhs, never been able to find it on dvd.  Some other favs are K-9, Where the Red Fern Grows, and I am Legend.  Thought I'd see what other GSD/dog movies other people liked that maybe I hadn't seen yet.

war dogs, an animal planet documentary.  they also had a movie made about the war dogs called "Rain".   do not watch either if you dont have a box of tissue handy.

on the lighter side,,,, i loved the K-9 series with Jim Belushi, and his dog in the movies Jerry Lee.

For a real creepy laugh, you can't beat "Mans Best Friend", the dog is beautiful even if he isn't a GSD and the way he deals with the dog catchers and the grouchy cat is very entertaining.  My favourite TV series was a toss up between the original "Littlest Hobo" and a 1960's UK series called "The Pursuers"  which was about a police handler and his dog.   For ignorance of training methods and truly optimistic continuity (canine lookalikes must have been selected by Stevie Wonder), it would be very hard to beat "White Dog", great for beginners to play spot the mistake.  I also liked a Disney film about an orphaned Great Dane that was reared by a Dachshund, the guys attempts to deceive his wife that this Dane puppy was a Dachshund are so funny and the scene where this huge leggy thing was on the point of winning a dog show and took one look at a Dachsie and started crawling around was hilarious, I yhink it was called "The Ugliest Dachshund".

littlest hobo, roy rogers, k9 with jim belushi & jerry lee, rin tin tin, worst week (a us knock-off of a bbc series) with a gsd named texaco, there was a movie with jack nicholson and ellen barkin where he trained gsds for protection (not that great of a movie, but i liked the dogs), where the red fern grows (book was much better but i like the movie too), turner and hooch, ole yeller, the incredible journey (the old narrated one), the ugliest dachsund was funny too (anytime a weenie dog runs its funny), a dog of flanders, my dog skip....i'll probably think of others.....anything with animals, especially dogs, particularly gsds....

Anyboby remember that movie Chips the War Dog? I remember watching it when i was real young but I cant remember much about it. I remember the dog "Chips" is a German Shepherd. I used to watch it over and over.

"The Biscuit Eater".  It was the very first movie that made me cry.  I was probably 4 when I saw it and never forgot it.  Old Yeller is no match for The Biscuit Eater.  More recently "Eyes of an Angel" with a Dobie.  I have yet to see Legend.  I pretty much like any movies with dogs.  I saw a pretty bad one, can't remember the name.  It had tons of GSD but they were mutant killers.  Good looking dogs though,.
