Thought I'd share a silly story for this Friday, since I just spent the past 5 minutes at my desk laughing.
So my parents are staying with us for the weekend after visiting my grandmother this past week. My parents have two very spoiled labs who they dote on and as my mother has been a stay at home mom/wife all her life, the labs do not know the meaning of crates.
Well, my girl is quite crate trained since she is in there when my husband and I are at work while our male is happy outside in the yard all day.
This morning I got up pulled together myself and the child, tossed my girl in her crate by the backdoor to the yard -where the crate lives in the kitchen right by the doors- and headed off, leaving my parent's lab and my GSD boy in the yard. SOP for this past week while I've been watching the one lab.
I get a call about half an hour ago from my mother who is frantic. She says they can't find our girl. I am understandably confused and go 'B'uh?' and my mother goes on that they looked in the yard with the other two dogs and didn't see her and have been out in the neighborhood walking around calling for her.
...
"Did you look in her crate?"
My girl was so relaxed and chilled out in her crate she didn't make a peep when they came into the kitchen to make breakfast, etc and they had no idea she was RIGHT THERE until I told them where she was. My Dad had been out combing the neighborhood for almost 30 minutes looking for her while my mother had been sitting on the couch RIGHT NEXT TO HER CRATE and never heard her.

LoL. Some people just dont get it :)
My parents never creat any of their dogs, well the one that they tried would never take it :). They always though of create as the evil :). That was until I brought my GSD, obviousely at first they hated the idea and said that I am eveil lol :). But one day when I had some stuff to do I left her with them, after few hours of playing with them she got bored, and went to her create and went straight to sleep. Ever since my parents say that this is the best thing ever and they regret that they never try that with their dogs ;). LoL hahahaha
